Invictus by William Ernest Henley Giant Coffee Mug
English poet William Ernest Henley (1849 - 1903) composed the inspiring poem Invictus to express his feelings after his battle with tuberculosis. He lost his left leg below the knee to the disease as a 17-year-old. Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson modeled Long John Silver in Treasure Island after his good friend, Henley, and J.M. Barrie, Scottish author of Peter Pan, was inspired to name his character Wendy by Henley's young daughter Margaret.
