Gokstad Viking Ship Coffee Mug
I have always been fascinated by the beauty and robustness of the Viking Ships and wanted to make an illustration based on current knowledge about what the Gokstad Viking Ship may have looked like around AD 800.
The illustration is based on written sources, photos, my own observations, blueprints from the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo and a consultation with Jan Bill, Professor of Viking Age Archaeology at the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo.
