There are few things more rewarding for an avid observer than introducing others, particularly youngsters, to the night sky. True, images show more but the image in a telescope is personal to the observer, involving as it does a physical connection via photons that have traveled from the source across cosmic distances to end their journey upon the observer's retina. To observe is to truly witness; an image is but technological hearsay.
