A high contrast photo of a blue cornflower I captured along a road leading to Yosemite National Park. Cornflowers are a favorite flower of many and are also known as bachelor's buttons. Their scientific name is Centaurea cyanus. Though they are native to Europe, they have escaped and grow wild in some areas of the California's Sierra foothills.
